CLC Service Desk

CLC Service Counter Located in the middle of the lower level of the Bass Library, t
he Service Desk offers a diversity of student services from many units and departments on campus. At the service desk, students can sign up for and meet with tutors, personal and subject area librarians, career services and other campus representatives. The service desk is also intended to function as an information and referral hub for students with questions about the CLC,  the Bass Library, and other campus services and organizations. The Service Table is regularly staffed by Student Techs who provide basic support for the cluster machines and are available for general consultation. The Student Techs also support the electronic media resources in the Collaborative Learning Center and can assist with multimedia presentations, technology-driven tutorials, and group study opportunities.

Room L05 - Technology Troubleshooting Office (TTO)

Technology Troubleshooting OfficeWalk-in technology consultation is provided for all Yale undergraduates and graduate students in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. No appointment is necessary. Students living off-campus or in Yale Graduate Apartments may call (203) 432-5242 to schedule an appointment for the same day or next day.

Room L01 - Library Teaching Space

The room seats 28 students or can be partitioned into two rooms, each seating 14 students. The tables and chairs may be reconfigured to accommodate needs. There are two lecterns (one on each side of the room), each fitted with a Sympodium and connected to its own ceiling-mounted data projector. Copycams are mounted above whiteboards in the room allowing people to save an image of what has been written on the boards. A cart of tablet PCs is available for mobile learning activities.

Room L06 - Library Teaching Space

Room L04 - Self-Service Multimedia Workstations

There are two workstations each equipped with iMacs and a VHS player. Users can also attach Firewire and USB devices such as camcorders, digital cameras and digital audio recorders to use with the iLife suite of multimedia editing applications. Studio-quality USB microphones can be checked out for recording on the iMacs.

Group Study Rooms

Bass Group Study RoomThese rooms are found around the periphery of the upper and lower level of the Bass Library and are accessed by placing your Yale ID card in proximity to a sensor at the door of each room. The rooms feature a variety of soft and hard seating, work tables, and large flat-panel displays for connecting a laptop.
